Armoured officers provide reconnaissance and direct fire support in combat using armoured fighting vehicles such as Leopard main battle tanks, light armoured or tactical armoured patrol vehicles, and variants of wheeled light utility vehicles. Along with members of the artillery, infantry and combat engineering regiments, they are members of the combat arms.
